प्रशासन में जब तक किसी समुदाय की उच्च स्तर पर भागीदारी नहीं होगी, वह प्रगति नहीं कर सकता। हम यदुवंशी इस बात पर गर्व करते हैं कि हमारे तमाम लोग शासन-प्रशासन में छाये हुए हैं, पर आपको जानकर बेहद आश्चर्य होगा कि सितंबर, 2015 में जाकर किसी यादव को केंद्र सरकार में सचिव पद सँभालने का मौका मिला है। हाल ही में खेल सचिव के पद पर नियुक्त राजीव यादव, अब तक के इतिहास में प्रथम यादव सचिव हैं। यदुकुल की तरफ से ढेरों बधाइयाँ !
Mr. Rajiv Yadav, IAS presently Secretary Sports in the Government of India. Prior to this he was working as Special Secretary & Financial Adviser in the Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers has had his schooling in Civil Engineering from IIT, Roorkee and then Masters in Civil Engineering from IIT, Delhi. He did his MBA from University of Hull (U.K).
As a young Indian Administrative Service Officer he has worked in India’s North-East, as Deputy Commissioner incharge of Nalbari District in Assam and Head of the Rural Development Department looking after various poverty eradication and nonconventional energy programmes in Assam. He was also instrumental in drafting the revised Assam Panchayati Raj Act which gave more delegated powers to the second tier of the Panchyats i.e. at the Development Block level. He has also been Chairman & M.D of Assam Power Distribution Company Limited and Assam Power Generation Corporation Limited and Assam Electricity Grid Company Limited looking after entire Power Sector in Assam. During his tenure, Power Sector in Assam recorded a growth of 16.8% compared to national average of 7%. He has also been Secretary, Planning & Development Deptt. and later Additional Chief Secretary, Planning & Development Deptt., Govt. of Assam.
He has held important positions in Government of India which include Director in the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, Executive Director of the India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO) from 2004-2009, under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry during which period he guided and supervised major trade exhibitions and trade promotion activities in 45 countries with focus on US/Europe and BRICS countries. He was Member in National Highways Authority of India implementing India’s ambitious Highway Infrastructure Programme from 2010-2013.
He has been a regular guest faculty with LBS National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie under Government of India since 2000. He occasionally contributes articles on scientific and cultural issues.
